Expanding Horizons Volume 5 - World Mix

http://www.archive.org/download/DJastonisherExpandingHorizonsVolume5-WorldMix/ExpandingHorizonsVolume5WorldMix0809.mp3

The 5th Expanding Horizons Mix is finally finished, it’s taken months in the making. I feel the wait has been worth it, rather than forcing it out I let time bring me the right tracks for this mix. When it comes to World Music, or even music from outside of your own country for that matter, I’d say the masses are ignorant to what’s really out there other then artists like Bob Marley, Carlos Santana, Rammstein, etc. Depending on your tastes and diversity in music, I’d say the average person will have heard of 3-4 groups in this mix if that.
My idea for it came way back right before the Olympics were starting. My concept and motivation for this project was with the World in a time full of War & hatred to push something that I believe every race, creed and person on this earth can understand. Music, at the end of the day has the ability to bring everyone together and I felt that creating this album would hopefully expand peoples thoughts even if for one moment, to try and understand another culture, form of lifestyle and in this mix’s case music.
If you choose to listen to just one of my mixes or one mix this year, make it this mix. It spans across multiple continents, various languages, a wide range of instruments, styles, genres, voices and the multicultural blend of stories I feel comes through well on this mix. In advance I apologize if you don’t like a musician I selected for your country, please understand I was trying to show the diversity there is in the World via Music and I selected the artists/tracks I did from each for specific reasons. Without further ado I bring you, Expanding Horizons Volume 5 – World Mix. I hope you enjoy and I look forward to creating more mixes like this in the near future. If you have any other musicians you’d like to share with the rest of the listeners, as well as myself please leave a comment and as usual please leave and constructive criticism/feedback.
Sincerely,
Zack

Hope you all enjoy. Support the artists by buying their album(s) or going to see them in concert if you like what you hear. If you are the owner of a audio file and would like it removed, e-mail me and I'll take it down. Please understand my sole purpose for this site, is to expand peoples musical tastes while hopefully coming across more individuals like myself who can tell me about new artists I haven’t heard of.

Thanks for listening and please leave feedback.
